year old British Schoolboy David Howell played World
Classical Chess Champion, Vladimir Kramnik. The 'blitz'
chess match was being staged by Einstein Group plc.
The 4 'blitz' matches each lasted a maximum of 10
minutes - (total duration of match - 40 minutes).
David drew only one of the matches against Kramnik
and have set a world record for the youngest person
ever to have scored against a reigning World Champion
in single combat. David and Vladimir played for the
Einstein Trophy, which was awarded to David.

Alexei Shirov, Judit Polgar, Peter Leko and
the rising star Alexander Grischuk compete in the double
round robin event. The event was very strong but did lack Vladimir
Kramnik who could not agree conditions with the organisers and Viswanathan
Anand who had committments to his sponsor in India.
